Campenella Roses

Wednesday, September 10, 2014
We have long loved garden roses; not only for their heavenly fragrance, but also for their beautiful shapely appearance. Each year, rose breeders introduce us to new varieties specifically grown for floristry use. One of our favorites for this year has been the hugely popular Campanella rose. The Campenella rose is a large, (sometimes 4 to 5 inches in diameter!) ruffled peach garden rose. It is sometimes mistaken for a peony, due to it's unusual size.
Campenella roses are rare, and not readily available on the wider market. We consider it a specialty rose that is used only in bridal bouquets and sparingly in cake decorations. Garden roses are generally 4 to 5 times more expensive than standard hybrid tea roses, which is also why we reserve them for bridal pieces. We love the way they punctuate a vintage-inspired bridal bouquet. We also love them as a single bloom bouquet, reminiscent of a 18th century taffeta ballgown.
If you're following the latest trends in weddings for Autumn and Winter 2014, you'll see that this variety pairs well with the rose gold themes seen on the runways and bridal expos for the season. We also favor it for winter's peach and mint color schemes, and alongside other showy florals such as anemones and ranunculus.
Mayumi offers a complimentary design consultation for your  event, so don't hesitate to ask her about the bold and beautiful Campanella rose. Follow our Faebook and Pinterest pages to see this and other floral designs.
